What y0u need f0r linking apps:

Y0u sh0uld have tw0 partiti0ns 0n SD card and b0th sh0uld be primary.
The first FAT partiti0n is y0ur standard SD card st0rage. The sec0nd partiti0n is used f0r applicati0n files and can be ext2, ext3, ext4, f2fs 0r FAT.
Y0u need t0 use a n0n-FAT file system (ext2, ext3, ext4 0r f2fs) 0n y0ur sec0nd partiti0n in 0rder t0 link app's private data files. Because the FAT file system (FAT16, FAT32 0r exFAT) d0es n0t supp0rt UNIX file 0wnership 0r permissi0ns and causes a security breakd0wn 0f app's private files.

Link2SD d0es n0t create the sec0nd partiti0n, y0u need t0 create it y0urself. Y0u can use any partiti0n manager such as Minit00l, Parag0n, Easeus etc. f0r this.
When y0u c0nnect y0ur ph0ne t0 PC as mass st0rage, Andr0id unm0unts the first FAT partiti0n but the sec0nd partiti0n remains m0unted. Theref0re linked applicati0ns are n0t affected and can be run with0ut pr0blems.
